Introduction
My name is LiQuasia Diamonuque Canty, but everyone calls “Quasia”, unless you’re my family then you call me “Qua.” I live with my mother, Asia Amos and, whenever he decides to come home, my older brother, Liquaze, who’s twenty-one. Along with Liquaze I have four other siblings, an older brother James IV (30), two older sisters Shakira (28) and Jasmine (24) and, finally, a little brother Isaiah (6). I guess you can say my dad made sure we kept the family big. I was born at Trillium Hospital, before it closed in 2002, on April 13,1998. My entire life I’ve lived in Albion,MI, until six years ago when I moved to Jackson,MI. I’d like to consider myself as a free spirited person; even in a tough situation I do my best to remain positive and keep a smile on my face.
Like any other high school student, school has never been the place I wanted to spend all my time. But, regardless of how much I wanted to be home in my bed, I made sure I did my best in school, keeping my grades up to make my family proud. Something that I excel at academically is quickly learning information, like in any math class I have taken. When it comes to weaknesses , my biggest one is being a procrastinator, typical for my age. I’ve spent way too many nights finishing up assignments early in the morning before class starts. Sorry, Mom, but I was a little too tired to finish it that night. |
Even though school isn’t where I wanted to spend all my time, outside of high school, I’ve spent two years attending the Jackson Area Career Center in the Cosmetology Program. Being able to have a career by the time I graduate high school isn’t something that many students can say. In fact, I rarely hear someone say same words? they will. It takes an enormous amount of dedication, and a strong passion, to be in this program. In order to complete this Program, a student have to have fifteen-hundred hours and pass the State Board Test with a seventy-five percent or better. Talk about putting in effort. But, I must say there isn’t anything I enjoy doing more than making a client of mine walk out feeling beautiful.
My portfolio begins with this Introduction, onto my Career Pathway, which will lead to my Twenty Benchmarks, demonstrating how I’ve mastered high school and completed Cosmetology. After that, I will show you my two letters of recommendations, my Resume, and lastly a Wordle including words important to me. Three benchmarks I wish to draw your attention to are, , , and . The three I’ve chosen will specifically show I am ready to pursue my career as a Cosmetologist.
The portfolio I’m about to present to you all represents many days and hours of hard work. I am pleased to show how much dedication, passion, and determination has helped me accomplish so many aspects of life, as well as how having special people in my life can motivate me to do anything I put your mind to. |
